Our Response Writing Competition is an open call for a writer to come and watch the show, then over a 1 week, write a 10-minute play for a chance to win £500 and have it professionally performed.
Final Exam by Miles Kinsley
Miles is a writer and actor from Yorkshire, now living in South Shields. He was shortlisted for Live Theatre’s Playwriting Award earlier this year and is also part of Northern Broadsides’ "Life in a Northern Town" playwriting programme. Miles uses pop culture as a way of discussing the societal and social pressures we face today - he is thrilled to have been selected to write the response piece for "The Nurses' Station"!
Writing credits include: "It’s All in Your Head" (Laurels) and "The Southern Side of the Wall" (Live Theatre).
Recent acting credits include: "As You Like It" (Theatre Space NE), "Mother of the Revolution" (archipelago arts), and "The Magician" (Slung Low).

Katie is a director and actress from the North East.
She is known as an assistant director with credits including; Coronation Street (ITV), The Dumping Ground (CBBC), Emmerdale (ITV) and many more! Katie has recently just wrapped filming on an acting gig for an exciting new kids TV programme for Milkshake/ Channel 5.
Katie recently directed the response piece for Disco Pigs ‘Neon Brown’ with Alphabetti and can’t wait to be back directing another new piece of writing with Alphabetti.
