VENUE
Alphabetti creates, produces and programmes new original work from exciting artists across the performing arts. In 2017 we transformed the third venue space in our short history into our new home. Located on St James Boulevard Alphabetti is Newcastle’s newest and smallest producing theatre.

Alphabetti was not opened for business, money, or personal gain but for the necessity of a fringe venue in Newcastle and the North East, ensuring the development and improvement of the ecology of the performing arts in the region.
OUR SPACES
THEATRE
Our main theatre space can hold 80 people and is set up in thrust with raised audiences on three sides, 5m x 4m Performance Area. Dressing room/Green room.
Accessibility: Two wheelchair spaces, Captioning and Audio Description units.
D'ADDARIO STAGE
Our second is a new addition built in 2021, sponsored by and named after D'Addario. Situated in our bar space, the space has a standing capacity of 80. Flexible layout can be set up for seating and/or standing. 3.3m x 2.8m Performance Area (accessible via ramp)

Rehearsal Room 1
General: A large flexible room - 10m x 8m. Concrete floor. Two large windows 3m x 2m each with ability to black these out. Three walls blacked out, one white bare wall. Please note that the rehearsal space is not soundproof. Max capacity 40
Rehearsal Room 2
A Smaller more intimate room, perfect for script read throughs, smaller rehearsals, auditions etc 6.10 m x 4.66 m. Concrete floor. One window into corridor, no external windows. Please note that the rehearsal space is not soundproof. Max capacity: 28
PRIVATE HIRE
A great party relies on a few things: good food, plenty of drink, good company and great entertainment. Alphabetti Theatre’s meticulous approach ensures we create the party you have always wanted. We work with many artists across the North East, so we can provide for a wide range of requirements.
REHEARSAL ROOM FOR HIRE
Our upstairs rehearsal room / smaller performance space offers somewhere for hire that is accommodating to your needs.
BAR FOR HIRE
Alphabetti staff are fully licensed to serve and distribute alcohol so if you’re having a party and need a bar talk to us! We’re a lot more interesting than your standard bar!
Pretty Urban in the bar
Alphabetti welcomes Pretty Urban to the Theatre and we are delighted to offer a Showcase Exhibition space and Pop-Up Gallery shop in our foyer and bar area.
Pretty Urban offers local and original urban photography that captures some of the gritty abandonment of the city in new and captivating visual narratives. The showcase pieces offer close cropped abstracts that each tell their own unique story - so whether it's vibrant colour or gritty layers and texture you're looking for; you'll find it with Pretty Urban.
