'Don't forget your corn rigs and barley rigs and take a spin around the gaypole in this fever dream of a cabaret!'
In the woods there grew a tree… oh wait that’s just Mack and Rhi. On Friday 31st October, get ready to be whisked off to Alphabettisle - A small geordie island where NOWT is what it seems… EVERYTHING is normal. It’s all OKAY. And there is absolutely NO human sacrifice.
This cabaret will celebrate all things folk horror - which is of course the queerest of all of the horror genres (According to us). Expect… Dances around the bonfire, poetry at Lord Summerisle’s house, drag in the may parade, and music at the Green Man inn, and plenty of ominous staring into the distance. Get ready to dissociate (but in a fun way) as we welcome you into this fever dream of a cabaret - welcome to all queer people and their allies.
Don’t forget your corn rigs and barley rigs and join your hosts Mack and Rhi for a spin around the gaypole… You did it beautifully!
About the company:
Mack & Rhi are two creative cabaret artists who have joined forces to make queer, cult comedy, DIY cabarets with joy, silliness and marginalised voices at their centre. They were the makers of shows such as: JAWS (but gay), GAYLIEN, Twin Freaks and Pedro Pascal Says Trans Rights Cabaret.
Mack (they/he) is a trans creative who makes work that is playful, educational, silly and raw, with an aim to help represent the underrepresented and advocate good vibes for the LGBTQIA+ community.
Rhianne (she/her) is a queer creative who makes work that is satirically sexy, rebellious and mischievous with a wicked sense of humour that promotes body acceptance and joyous celebrations of love.
Together they make work that holds chaos, silliness, alternative and heartwarming comedy with queer joy at its heart, creating friendly spaces for queer people and their pals to be themselves and celebrate their voices and experiences.
